Can Guinea Pigs Eat Watermelon?

Today was the first really hot day of the year. Although it isn't officially summer yet, it sure felt like it with a high of 91 degrees. So you can imagine our delight when the humans gave us a cold, watery treat that was as sweet tasting as it was fun to eat: watermelon! Guinea pigs love to eat watermelon on hot summery days. We give it 5/5 stars. Because watermelon has a lot of sugar, please only feed your guinea pig one or two small chunks per day.

The humans knew that Lola would almost certainly steal the slice of watermelon if they set it down in our cage, so they fed us in turns. We were beyond happy! Delicious, cold watermelon on such a miserably hot day, and I didn't even have to worry about Lola being bossy and stealing my share.

  7. Rawrgh, Lily was so offended by the watermelon in her dish that she flipped her dish over so she wouldn't have to look at it.
