Can Guinea Pigs Eat Green Beans?

Here's another food that the humans got us from the farmer's market: green beans. Green beans can be fed to us 2-4 times per week, but only 1-2 per piggy at a time because they are high in oxalic acid.

Broccoli is getting big! I'm going to move my green bean over to Buffy's side. I feel safer with it there.

Yum!

Green beans are delicious and crunchy, and we give them 5/5 stars!

  1. Do guinea pigs do better in pairs or more? Because I have a solitary male guinea pig and I really want to get another one, but I heard that if i buy another male guinea pig it would be difficult because they would fight.

    1. Be sure to introduce new guineas correctly don't just toss them in there together. I have 2 little boys who get along just fine but it was scary in the beginning (they would fight for dominance) I didn't know you had to introduce them with a certain method at the time, but it really would've saved both me and my little ones a lot of distress.

  2. Guinea pig males can live in pairs. Just contact a shelter and ask them to help tou find a friend for your guinea pig. Neuter them if you can I heard tht makes them less aggresive

    2. Neutering male guinea pigs doesn't make them less aggressive. It's a very dangerous and difficult procedure to preform and it's not worth the risk.

    1. Males are actually far more mellow than females. However, in my experience with breeding females don't get impacted.

  4. I have 3 Guinea Pigs. Cpt Nibbles, Buddy, and Rufus. Buddy and Rufus Get along famously. Cpt Nibbles, However gets along with neither. There is a great deal of foot stamping and it has even escalated into actual Fighting between the larger two, Buddy and Cpt Nibbles. Currently, their play cage is arranged so that Cpt Nibbles can get in very close proximity of the others, But cannot actually get at them. They all have plenty of room to "Get Away. from one another if they want to. ( the cage is 9 ft by 6 feet, with Numerous pigloos and toys.) This inability to get along has been going on for about a year. To confuse matters evn more, CPT nibbles, (the one who can't get along with anyone, is the one that is the most affectionate towards people. What could be the cause of this, and how do I fix it , so that they are all happy together?

  7. This is Kitty mom is letting me use her phone. Per your review she gave Nancy and I a half a green bean each. I LOVED it, Nancy is a picky pig and didn't really like it, she took a little nibble and turned up her nose. I'm thinking YAY I get Nancy's half to, but mom took it away. She said something about we had already had a lot of vegies today and it was new!?! UGH how do you deal with these over protective owners?

    Sincerely,
    Kitty
