Our first guide to naming your guinea pig was well-received, so we decided to do a follow-up. Here are some more ideas for naming your guinea pig:
* Something space-related: Astro, Comet, Galaxy, Nebula, Nova, Meteor.
* Fuzzy creatures from science fiction: Chewie, Ewok, Tribble, Wookie.
* Characters from literature, movies or television: Aladdin, Beowulf, Bilbo, Captain Kirk, Frodo, Homer, Romeo, Sherlock, Starbuck, Xena, Simba.
* Musical instruments: Banjo, Bugle, Calliope, Fiddle, Kazoo, Piccolo, Trumpet, Tuba.
* After official titles: Baron, Chief, Duchess, General, Professor.
* After famous people: Elvis, Einstein, Ghandi, Lincoln, Mozart.
* After other animals: Bear, Moose, Tiger
You can also give your guinea pigs color-specific names, depending on what color they are:
* For black guinea pigs: Inky, Licorice, Midnight, Pepper.
* For blonde/cream guinea pigs: Biscuit, Buttercup, Caramel, Custard, Honey, Cream, Mustard, Toffee.
* For brown guinea pigs: Bear, Brownie, Dr. Pepper (Doc for short), Truffles
* For grey guinea pigs: Dusty, Misty
* For red guinea pigs: Blaze, Cayenne, Cherry, Garnet, Magenta, Rosie, Ruby, Scarlet.
* For white guinea pigs: Blanco, Cloud, Crystal, Frosty, Ghost, Marshmallow, Pearl, Popcorn, Snowflake, Sugar.
* For black and white guinea pigs: Chess, Oreo,

DeleteTwo of my guineas were named Licorice and Marshmallow. :) The others were Chocolate Chip Hot Fudge Sundae (Chip for short), Rocky Road and Marshmallow Jr.

DeleteWhat kind of name would you pick for a lilac or silver agouti or blue or brindle or roan. This is why i name mine after greek gods and characters.
ReplyDeleteI think the grey guinea pig names would probably also work for a silver agouti. The other colors are a little trickier, though. Greek gods would work in those cases. :-) Which Greek gods and characters did you choose? Ares and Artemis seem like good names.

Deletehellos.. I have a big family of lovabies. Jini and Jony.. first pets.. Jony is no more (lost him to eternity 2012 Christmas) :( unsure why he died!..Jini got two new boy friends..Jack & Jones..and their family Jill/Jo two cute gals..twinky n Dinkie..two naughty boys..Twinkie left this world today :( am still wondering why..I hate when they make me cry.. I wish I learn to accept and take care better..

DeleteWhen I was coming home with my new guinea pig, there was a billboard on the highway for some store called Leo's Diamonds. so my guinea pig was therefore named Leo :)

We have a pretty, gold dutch girl. First we decided to call her Ginny, because she's a ginger. Then, after careful consideration, we decided that her full name should be Miss Ginny Pig. But we still just call her Ginny, for short.

ReplyDeleteI have four guinea pigs their names are Lulu, Spike, Molly, and Maggie! Lulu and Spike are bonded sisters. Molly and Maggie are mother and daughter. Maggie has three brothers Rusty, Ovi, and Thunder! I love all seven very much!
