That's different. |
The new water bottle had a few different features from our old water bottle. First, there was the flip top:
That looks easy to fill and to clean. No more complaining, humans! |
That was a good feature. However, there was also a not-so-good feature:
What the heck? |
Unlike our old water bottle that had a metal ball at the end of the nozzle, this one had a little metal nub thing. We were curious and went to investigate, but couldn't figure out how to drink out of it!
I don't get it. How do we drink from that thing? This stinks! |
Eventually, the humans realized that we were not going to be drinking out of this new bottle, forcing them to go back to the pet store and buy a new one of the old water bottle type. Unfortunately, we'll have to hear our humans complain about how hard the water bottle is to clean again, but at least we know how to drink out of it! Despite the cleverness of the flip top, we're going to have to give this product 1/5 stars, because what good is a water bottle if you can't drink out of it?
I'm having a hard time trying to find a good bottle too, the normal wire fixings won't work with my piggies' cage, they need one that attaches with suction cups, but the only one I've seen is a Ferplast one with this same kind of weird nib! They did get the hang of it after a few days (with a water bowl available too), but I think the ball bearing ones are way better.
ReplyDeleteHi, just a question, have you ever tried using a hay wheel? My pigs use it and they like it. You should do a product review of it!
ReplyDeleteWe have a hay wheel and we like it, but we haven't reviewed it yet. Thanks for the idea, Brandon!
DeleteAhw what a shame! Our water bottle drips too so here is what we do:
ReplyDeleteWe put a flat stone underneath it so the cage doesn't get wet.
Hopefully one day will we find a perfect water bottle!
How does that work? Is it porous stone that soaks up the water? Is it bowl-shaped so it holds the water that drips?
DeleteI use the Lixit versions. They're basically the same exact thing. None of my guinea pigs have ever had issues with it. They are great because they leak 'n drip far less and make less noise.
ReplyDeleteWe have a brick under our water bottle to catch the drips. Dries quickly and keeps our bedding dry.

ReplyDeleteInteresting idea! We'll have to look into that one of these days, and perhaps do a post on this. Thanks!
