Can Guinea Pigs Eat Parsnips?

Readers of this blog know how much we love carrots, so when we heard we'd be trying parsnips, which looks like a white carrot, we got excited. One source claims we can have parsnips 1-2 times per week, while another says 2-3 times per week; to be on the safe side, we're going to recommend no more than twice per week.

Broccoli, did you get bored of parsnips already? Oh well, more for me!

Now I'm getting a little bored, too.
Humans, would you like our leftovers?
Parsnips may look like a lot like carrots, but they don't taste like them. They only get 3/5 stars.

  1. Our 2 piggy's love carrots - so, we buy the organic snack size carrots for them. How much is ok to give them a week?

  4. My Guinea, Jacob, it's 5yrs old. He's eaten carrots like crazy since he was 1. He goes crazy the moment my husband walks through the door, he's a chef. Jacob seems to know when it's my husband over anybody, which I just don't understand but love it! Jacob always has his food and Timothy hay but, he gets about 4 organic carrots a day and he loves it!

  5. I got two guinea pigs about a year ago,and to be honest I am really glad I did. I love my cavies and sites like this have really helped me to learn stuff! I've never owned guinea pigs before my two now. As for the carrots, myguinea pigs prefer the peelings of them as they are easier to eat, but it is really good to give them a whole carrot as it really helps their teeth and gums when they chew it. But, in all about once a day I give them at least one whole large carrot a day and they love it!!!
