Toys for Guinea Pigs: Watermelon Houses

Here's a great toy idea, courtesy of the Guineapigcages.com forums: watermelon houses. We've tried several toy ideas in the past, and most of them did not impress us (although towels were fun). But unlike most other toys, this is one you can eat, and eating is one of our favorite pastimes.

Genius!
Chew-chew-chew-chew-chew!
Greatest. Toy. EVER!
We gave watermelon as a food 5/5 stars, and watermelon houses get the same score. The humans were disappointed because just chewed around the entrance rather than going inside. Sorry humans, but you have to let us appreciate toys in our own way. I'm sure you wouldn't want to go into wet cramped space, even if it was dripping with your favorite food!

  7. Hi Larry and Mo's owner. You can email us at cavysavvyaguineapigblog@gmail.com if you'd like, although we don't check it very often. Feel free to keep commenting, too. We do like comments, and we do read them all, although sometimes we're too busy to reply right away. We have to eat, nap, and chew on things, and that takes priority! :-)

  9. Hi. My name is Brianna-J and I just wanted to let you guys know that this is a fantastic idea! I think my human will be making me one very, very soon... let's just hope she's more careful with a knife THIS time around. Poor human.

    1. Try not to wheek too much as your human cuts into the watermelon. We tend to get really excited when we know our humans are doing something with food in the other room, and it can make them feel rushed. Feeling rushed isn't good when they're using a knife. :)
